Vidyadhar Wabgaonkar joins FCB-Ulka as strategic planning head

FCB-Ulka has appointed Vidyadhar Wabgaonkar as head of strategic planning for its Mumbai operations. Wabs, as Wabgaonkar is popularly known in advertising circles, joins the agency after a year's stint with Leo Burnett. & #BANNER1 & #

A gold medalist in BE Electronics and a topper from IIM Calcutta, Wabs has spent 15 years in brand management, marketing services and advertising planning with companies including Procter & Gamble, Marico, ICI and Leo Burnett. He has worked on brands such as Ariel, Parachute, Kinetic and Dulux, among others.

Wabs brings to FCB-Ulka hands-on brand marketing experience and a combination of analytical skills and conceptual understanding of advertising.

He will be heading the strategic planning group at FCB-Ulka Mumbai, which consists of over 15 planners, and will provide support to major clients, including Tata Motors, Tata Indicom, ITC Foods, Wipro Consumer Care, Amul, Zee, LIC, UTI, and others.

Wabs' appointment is expected to help the agency strengthen its offering as a strategy focused one-stop shop marketing communication solutions provider and fuel its growth plans.

The FCB-Ulka group's consulting offering, Cogito Consulting Group, will also benefit from the vast brand experience that Wabs will add to the intellectual prowess of the team.
