After charming Washington, India puts up a good show at NY Fest

Winners include McCann-Erickson, Leo Burnett, Mudra, 1 pointsize and WHY Axis

Indian agencies are shining at the New York Festivals International Design, Print & Outdoor Advertising Awards, now in its 48th year. As per details available with agencyfaqs!, the total Indian haul is 6 Golds, 8 Silvers and 4 Bronzes.

McCann-Erickson's ‘Big Bubble’ has won ‘The Grand’ in the ‘Print and Outdoor’ category. The prize is the Grand Prix equivalent of the Cannes. The agency's haul includes three Golds and two Bronzes. Plus, of the 35-odd nominations that Indian agencies had at the festival, McCann had seven nominations.

This apart, Leo Burnett has bagged one Gold and five Silvers, Mudra has won one Gold and one Bronze, 1 pointsize has won one Gold and one Bronze, while WHY Axis, Bates and Publicis have won one Silver each.

McCann's 'Big Bubble' also bagged a Gold in the Outdoor category, while the campaign won a Bronze. Other Golds that the agency has bagged in the Outdoor/Transit/Posters category include those for ‘Diet Coke Labels’ and ‘Child Labour’. ‘Impotence Cure’ helped it win a second Bronze.

Heinz Tomato Ketchup fetched Leo Burnett its solitary Gold. The same entry, ‘3 Hours’, that had won at Cannes, has won this time again in the Outdoor category. The entry has also bagged a Silver. Burnett's other winning entries include ‘Hole’ for McDonald’s, which has won two Silvers, ‘Tiger Blood Stripes’ for Sanctuary magazine and ‘Invite Book: Temple of Dawn’ for Steinmetz – both bagging Silvers.

Mudra Communications has won a Gold for Sanctuary magazine’s ‘Swallowing’ in Print. Again for Print, the entry ‘Men In Black Are Here' for HBO has bagged a Bronze.

Sharad Haksar’s 1 pointsize won a Gold for the Perri Alley campaign in the Photography category. The agency has again won a Bronze for Perri Alley in the Apparel category.

Bangalore-based WHY Axis has won a Silver for the ’22-year old toddler’ in the Pubic Service category, while Bates India has bagged a Silver for its press advertisement titled 'Jaipur Foot' in the 'Philanthropic Appeals' Category.

Publicis won a Silver for its press ad for 'Kukkiwon Martial Arts School' in the category of 'Professional Services'. The creative was titled 'Wall'. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
