Triton bags creative duties for Sanyo BPL, media pitch is still on

The size of the business is estimated to be above Rs 18 crore

Triton Communications, Bangalore, has bagged the creative duties for the electronic-appliances giant, Sanyo BPL. The size of the business is estimated to be more than Rs 18 crore.

The pitch process for the creative duties started in June, with around eight agencies in the fray.

The business is also very important because Sanyo is set to launch as an independent brand for the first time in India.

Ganesh Kamath, vice-president, Triton Communications, Bangalore, says, “Our task includes promoting both BPL and the Sanyo brand simultaneously. The client liked the clarity in our creative idea, which can be expanded across all media.”

Kamath adds, “There is stiff competition in the electronic appliances market, and our aim is to present these two brands through non-conventional media as well, in addition to the the traditional media.”

According to sources within Sanyo BPL (the recently formed, joint-venture company between BPL Ltd and Sanyo Electric Company Ltd), three or four agencies will be shortlisted for the media pitch, and a decision will be taken within a month.
