Getz set to go with Sania mania

Hyundai's Getz gets a new lease of life with Sania Mirza as its brand ambassador

Hyundai Motor India has signed

India's successful woman tennis star, Sania Mirza, as the brand ambassador for the Getz.

Sania, who has caught the imagination of an entire generation with her performances in major tennis tournaments, including her recent success in the US Open Championship, will endorse the Getz in all Hyundai promotions for the next three years.

Commenting on the choice of brand ambassador, BVR Subbu, president, Hyundai Motor India, says, "We couldn't have chosen a more appropriate brand ambassador for the Getz. Sania's pursuit of excellence in her game, her self-belief and her personality are compatible with the Getz, a car universally acknowledged for its technical excellence, modern design and youth appeal."

"This is also part of our efforts to support promising sportspersons and athletes and help them excel in their sport," he added.

Hyundai is hoping to repeat the Santro's success with the Getz. Just as Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta were ideal brand ambassadors for the Santro, Hyundai is expecting Sania to weave a similar magic for the Getz.

Her aggressive tennis shots, coupled with her self-confidence and attitude, are in sync with the youthful "Getz U" positioning of the car.

Meanwhile, Hyundai has tied up with the International Cricket Council to sponsor the ICC Awards, called the Hyundai ICC Awards, which acknowledge excellence in cricket. The automobile major has also extended its support to Taekwondo and Shooting by sponsoring Indian athletes and facilitating their participation in international events.
