McCann-Erickson, Mumbai, bags Taraash silver jewellery business

The size of the business is estimated to be worth Rs 8-10 crore

McCann-Erickson, Mumbai, has bagged the business of Taraash, the silver jewellery brand. Although the agency declined to reveal the size of the business, industry insiders estimate it to be around Rs 8-10 crore.

Govind Pandey, senior vice-president and general manager, McCann-Erickson, Mumbai, says, “The client appreciated our approach towards the brand and the creative strategy that we displayed in our presentation. And, our past work was also kept in mind before we were awarded the creative duties.”

A decision is still to be taken on the media duties.

For the record, Taraash is a national brand of sterling silver jewellery from ACPL (Agra Chains), which was established in 1948. Agra Chains has won the prestigious ‘Highest Silver Export Award’ a record 14 times. Its product range comprises pendants, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, chains, key chains, finger rings, toe rings and anklets. The TG for Taraash is 15-35 years.

The Taraash brand is available across jewellery shops, departmental stores and stores like Gold Souk, Big Bazaar, Planet M, Lee, H&G and Shopper’s Stop.
