Hungama goes in for a makeover with new logo and programme

The channel has gone in for a high-energy look and aims to target all from 4 to 14 years

Hungama channel launched its new logo as well as a new programming line-up for weekends called ‘Hungama Fungama’ from October 30.

Zarina Mehta, programming head, Hungama, says, “This two and a half hours of programming on Sundays has been designed mainly for co-viewing. However, the overall revamp of the channel has been done targeting the age group of 4-14 years. Right now, ‘Hungama Fungama’ is available only on Sundays, but we are planning to introduce it on Saturdays, too.”

Mehta adds, “The weekends will get more interactive – we will have letter reading sessions and we will flash SMSs on television screens. There will be game shows organised in shopping malls and amusement parks. Interaction with kids through such activities will give the channel a high amount of visibility.”

The two and a half hour programme on Sunday mornings will include shows such as ‘Masaki’, ‘Telematches’, ‘World’s Funniest Videos’, ‘Gyan of the Day’, ‘Book Reviews & Music Updates’ and ‘Make My Dream Contest’. Out of these shows, ‘Telematches’ and ‘World’s Funniest Videos’ have been picked up from the international library. ‘Masaki’ is an internationally renowned Russian comedian, who presents shows in the ‘silent movie’ style.

Apart from this, Hungama is launching two new shows, ‘YuYu Gi Oh’ on November 14 and ‘Sanya’ in December.
