Wunderman, Delhi, bags a gold at the International Davey Awards

The integrated marketing services agency has got a gold for a direct mail piece titled ‘Gardening Tips for the CEO’

Wunderman, Delhi, has bagged the inaugural Davey Gold in the business to business, direct marketing category. The entry that got it the gold was a direct mail piece titled ‘Gardening Tips for the CEO’.

The mailer was designed for EMC, a leading storage solution provider. There were around 2,000 international entries in the category.

Ajay Sood, vice-president, Wunderman India, says, “We wanted to talk to the CEOs and bring to the fore EMC’s side of the story. EMC, though relatively lesser known in India, is a well-known international brand providing IT storage solutions.”

He adds, “The scenario in India is that the spending on IT storage is not more than 1-2 per cent. The objective was to convey to CEOs the importance of IT in their organisations, and how EMC can help.”

He elaborates on the mailer, “For this purpose, we created a mail pack including seeds, fertiliser and the information on EMC. We were looking at connecting with the CEOs as they are the nurturers of their organisation, and hence the nurturers of information, too.”

The Davey Awards honour the creative excellence of smaller agencies and companies worldwide. The Davey is judged and overseen by the International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA), whose members are drawn from leading advertising, media and marketing firms, including Yahoo!, MTV, HBO, The Webby Awards, ‘Wired’, ‘Adweek’ and ‘Brandweek’. It is sponsored by The Creative Group, ‘Adweek’ and ‘Fortune Small Business Magazine’.
