Coca Cola's Amit Jain joins MTV Networks India as managing director

The position has been vacant since Alex Kuruvilla quit MTV in June, this year

NEW DELHI, November 25

Amit Jain, regional vice-president, Coca Cola India, will join MTV Networks India, as the managing director, the position vacated by Alex Kuruvilla in June 2006. In addition, Jain will also be the executive vice-president for MTV Networks Asia.

Bill Roedy, vice-chairman, MTVN, and president, MTVN International says, “India is a strategic priority for MTVN and we are excited to have Jain with his tremendous track record in a highly competitive youth market, to take our business to the next level.”

He continues, “India’s vibrant, diverse cultures provide the perfect complement to the MTVN brands, which celebrate and reflect local creativity, while also providing the best in international content.”

Commenting on his appointment, Amit says, “With three strong brands - MTV, Nick and Vh1 - MTV Networks India is uniquely placed in the television entertainment domain and I look forward to the excitement of driving these brands further on their growth curves.”

Jain will join the company on January 1 2006 and will report directly to the president, MTV Networks Asia Pacific. All division heads in MTV and General Managers of Nick and VH1 will report to him. He will be responsible for leading the business and creative development across all the MTVN brands in India. In addition he will be exploring new opportunities to grow the business in the region.
