Chandradeep Mitra joins OMS as president

After quitting Lintas Personal and Lintas Healthcare, Mitra has decided to give media a shot. He will report directly to Madhukar Kamath

Chandradeep Mitra has joined Optimum Media Solutions (OMS), the media arm of the Mudra Group, as president. He will operate out of Mumbai.

Mitra resigned recently from his post of president at Lintas Personal and Lintas Healthcare. He will replace Sandeep Vij, who will be taking on another assignment within the Mudra Group. The details of this assignment could not be ascertained.

Mitra will report to Madhukar Kamath, managing director and CEO, Mudra.

When contacted by agencyfaqs!, Mitra said, “After mainstream advertising, I moved on to direct and integrated marketing. Having got exposure in these fields, I feel I am at a stage where I can add value to media as well. At a personal level, it has been a 360-degree journey for me.”

Talking about his new responsibilities, Mitra said, “OMS has been a successful agency, but has always kept a low profile. One of my main targets is to change this and give the agency more visibility. We have a list of good clients, but we need to go a step further in terms of producing even better results and solutions for them.”

Mitra started off his career in client servicing in 1988 at Lowe (then Lintas). In 1992, he moved on to join an advertising agency, Goldwire, where he spent a year. He then joined O&M, where he was head, client servicing, in Delhi and, later, in Bangalore. He rejoined Lowe in 1996 as vice-president and handled clients such as Bajaj Auto, Idea Cellular, the Oberoi Group and Jet Airways.

Mitra took over as president, Lintas Personal, in 2000. In 2003, he got the additional charge of heading Lintas Healthcare.
