CNN-IBN appoints MindShare as its media agency

CNN-IBN is a 24-hour English general news channel by Global Broadcast News (GBN), a TV18 Group company


MindShare has & #BANNER1 & # bagged the media duties for CNN-IBN, the new, 24-hour, English general news channel launched by Global Broadcast News (GBN), a TV18 Group company.

Confirming the news, Dilip Venkatraman, director, marketing, CNN-IBN, says, "Mindshare is known for its expertise and innovative strategies. We will definitely leverage its market expertise to build brand CNN-IBN."

Sundar Raman, GM, Mindshare, New Delhi, says, "At a time when news channels have become large businesses, we are certain that we will be able to build a distinctive media brand in the relatively cluttered news sector."

GBN is a 74:26 joint venture between the TV18 Group and professionals Rajdeep Sardesai, Sameer Manchanda and Haresh Chawla. GBN's charter is to launch channels in the general news space under the editorial leadership of Sardesai. The TV18 Group is India's leading and most successful business news broadcaster in both English and Hindi.

The group also has a news website called IBNLive.com, which offers hard news in an interactive format.

For the first time ever, IBNLive offers viewers/ users an opportunity to contribute to the news and interact with editors and reporters. It also provides users the facility to download data on their iPod or vPod. Updated round the clock, IBNLive is driven by CNN-IBN and the TV18 Group's team of over 1,000 news professionals.
