Sanjay Sharma, vice-president, Ambience Publicis, Mumbai, has put in his papers. He has been appointed executive vice-president and head of Mudra, Delhi. Sharma will report to Sandip Vij, president, Mudra, North and East.

Confirming this development to agencyfaqs!, Vij says, “In 2006, Mudra plans to integrate the specialised divisions, and bring in a strategic shift in its product offerings. We will concentrate on providing total branding solutions from now onwards. Sharma will be an integral part of this team.”

Sharma, an engineer from the Government Engineering College, obtained his MBA from Mumbai University in 1991. Later that year, he joined Colgate’s sales team. He then moved to Colgate’s marketing department. In 1994, he moved to Boots Pharmaceuticals as product manager, where he was later promoted as group product manager. His advertising stint started with Ambience Publicis in 1997. He served at the agency for nine years in various capacities, starting with the post of account director. During his career in advertising, Sharma has worked on some powerful brands such as Nerolac, ICICI, Emami and HDFC.

Talking about his tenure in Ambience Publicis, Sharma says, “If I were to pick up a memorable account that I worked on in the past, I would name TVS Suzuki, Emami and Yellow Pages. However, I have had a great learning experience with all my clients.”
