After Shah Rukh
Khan, it's time for cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni to be signed on as the brand ambassador for Videocon. Dhoni currently endorses Pepsi, Reebok and Exide Batteries.
Dhoni will endorse Videocon's extensive product range comprising plasma televisions, LCD televisions, CTVs, DVD players, home theatre systems, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners and microwave ovens.
Venugopal Dhoot, chairman, Videocon Group, says, "Dhoni represents the new face of India. He is young, confident and an emerging star in the international arena, which is very similar to Videocon's emergence as the first Indian multinational in the category of consumer electronics and home appliances."
Adding to that, Sunil Tandon, vice-president, marketing, Videocon, says, "Dhoni is young and flamboyant. He brings his own innovative and entertaining style of playing in cricket matches, which best communicates our core values of being a young and innovative brand."
Elaborating on the need for another brand ambassador besides Khan, Dhoot says, "Dhoni complements Shah Rukh Khan in our brand communication. Our range of products caters to all age groups and who better than these two, both of whom enjoy universal appeal, to communicate this message!"
For the record, Videocon has been closely associated with BCCI for the sponsorship of international cricket matches in India. The recent ODI and Test series between India and Sri Lanka was sponsored by Videocon.
