Ravi Deshpande to judge The One Show

Contract’s chief creative officer feels that The One Show is one of the toughest international awards to judge

Ravi Deshpande, chief creative officer, Contract, has been invited to judge The One Show, 2006. The show will be held from March 12 -18, 2006, in New York City.

Deshpande comments, “These are one of the toughest awards shows, tougher even than Cannes. They have a long, intense judging procedure that extends to a week.”

He adds that although India hasn’t bagged too many gold, silver or bronze pencils at The One Show, it has been a finalist several times. He hopes that this year, India will do better and bag a fistful of pencils.

When quizzed on the parameters for judging the entries, Deshpande says, “I will look out for exceptional ideas with top class execution. I think that over the years, the quality of work and finesse from all around the globe is becoming better by the day.”

For the record, The One Show recognises creative concepts across all media, including print, television, design and interactive advertising. Last year’s winners were selected from nearly 17,000 entries from over 55 countries and were featured in ‘The One Show Annual Volume 27’ and ‘The One Show Interactive Volume VIII’.
