Carat bags four businesses worth Rs 27 crore

The four businesses include the lifestyle brand, Luxottica, technology brands, 3 and Tulip, and Escorts Tractors

Carat has added four new businesses to its kitty. These include lifestyle fashion brand Luxottica, technology brands 3 and Tulip, and Escorts Tractors. The combined size of the businesses is around Rs 27 crore.

Luxottica, estimated to be worth Rs 4 crore, moves from Capital. This comes in the wake of a global alignment of the media duties for all Luxottica brands with Carat. These brands include sunglass brands Rayban and Vogue and fashion labels Chanel, Ferragamo, Killer Loop, Prada, Versace, Bvlgari, D&G, DK&Y and Versus.

3, the international outsourcing major in the telecom space, moves from Maxus and is billed at Rs 5 crore. Deanne Rodrigues, the official spokesperson, branding and marketing communications department, 3, says, “We called for a pitch and we really liked Carat’s media strategies and media innovations, particularly in the non-traditional space. They offered us feasible solutions for media options such as co-branding.”

The creative duties for 3 continue to be with O&M and Axiom Optimals.

Tulip Technology, a company into last mile connectivity solutions, was earlier handling media in-house. Its creative duties, too, have moved from Adfactors to Equus Red Cell. The size of the business is estimated to be around Rs 8 crore.

The advertising and media duties for Escorts Tractors were earlier being handled by Headstart Advertising. Now, the media part has been shifted to Carat. The size of the business is around Rs 10 crore. The brand wants to capitalise soon in a major way on the buoyant agriculture sector.
