'Rashtriya Sahara' set to launch three new editions

Starting with a Patna edition in May, the Hindi daily will subsequently launch in Kanpur and Varanasi

‘Rashtriya Sahara’, the Hindi daily will soon launch three new editions. The first new edition will come out from Patna in May which will be subsequently followed by Kanpur and Varanasi editions.

The Hindi daily currently has three editions from Delhi, Lucknow and Gorakhpur.

On the expansion plans, Prabhat Dabral, head, 'Sahara Samay Rashtriya', says, “It was logical to expand to these markets – Patna, Kanpur and Varanasi -- as these are strong Hindi-speaking belts.”

For the Patna edition, it is learnt that the company has already set up the necessary infrastructure including the printing facility, and even the team is in place.

The Patna edition, which is to be launched in May, will be priced at Rs 3.50, and have eight pages of local content. However, for the Kanpur and Varanasi editions, the prices have been kept at Rs 3 with 7-8 pages of local content.

Ranvijay Singh, editor, Rashtriya Sahara, says, “The new editions will have 16 pages of national news and a four-page colour supplement on all seven days.”

When asked about how they plan to promote these two new editions, the Rashtriya Sahara executives were not ready to comment.

It may be recalled that Prabhat Dabral had recently informed agencyfaqs! about the expansion plans of the Urdu daily, 'Roznama Rashtriya Sahara’, which is set to launch 10 new editions by May.
