Miditech signs a production and licensing alliance deal with Strix Television AB

As per the agreement, the two production houses can license and produce each other's format shows

Miditech, the television production company which has earned a name for itself in the reality genre having produced shows such as Indian Idol or Fame Gurukul, has signed a production and licensing deal with Sweden-based, Strix Television AB.

Strix television is known for its reality and format shows such as 'Survivor', 'Harem', 'The Farm', 'The Bar', etc.With this deal, Miditech can bring to the Indian television, some of the popular reality format shows produced by the Strix.

While Strix will charge a licence fee from the broadcasters, Miditech will be responsible for the production of these shows.

Nikhil Alva, CEO, Miditech, says, “We have a long history of working with the Indian channels, and have the know-how of the local logistics, contexts and networking.”

Besides, Strix can also adapt Miditech’s format shows, and format it as per the international needs.

According to the Strix official website, the production house has sold its formats in 73 countries.

Ask Alva as to which channel he is looking forward to work with, and pat comes the diplomatic reply, “We have a proven record of working with the biggest broadcasters in India. Nothing has been decided as yet. But if we choose anything from Strix's catalogue, we will make sure that the show matches the channels' image.”

For the record, Miditech has produced shows such as, 'Indian Idol', 'Fame Gurukul' and 'Deal Ya No Deal' for Sony, 'MTV Roadies' for MTV, and 'Hospital' and 'Commando' for BBC World.
