Leroy Alvares joins Tribal DDB as country head

Alvares has worked earlier with Ogilvy & Mather and iContract. He has a track record of brand building through relevant, innovative and impactful communication solutions

Leroy Alvares has joined Tribal DDB as country head, the position that was vacated recently by CVS Sharma.

Prior to joining Tribal DDB, Alvares worked with iContract (the one-to-one direct marketing arm of Contract Advertising) as the profit centre head for its Mumbai operations.

He was with iContract for around six years. Before iContract, Alvares was with Ogilvy & Mather for four years.

Alvares has a career span stretching across 10 years and associated extensively with advertising, brand management and direct marketing. He also has a wide spread of experience in several other categories such as financial services, retail, telecom, information technology and fashion and lifestyle.

Commenting on the reason for his move, Alvares says, “The operations of Tribal DDB are growing at a phenomenal rate. I believe there is a great need to integrate the interactive, direct and relationship marketing disciplines to deliver quick, highly impactful and sustained brand demand solutions to all its clients. The role is exciting as it offers a great opportunity for growth.”

Alvares has a track record of brand building through relevant, innovative and impactful communication solutions that work across media platforms. Of his memorable achievements, he recalls, “We won the first ever Gold Lion in Cannes Direct Marketing in the year 2004 for ICICI Bank.” He has also won an Effie and a Grand Effie.

According to R Lakshminarayanan, CEO, Mudra Marketing Services, Alvares is the perfect fit for the organisation with its ambition to be the undisputed market, thought and image leader in the interactive space.

“He brings a stellar track record of team and business building which, coupled with Tribal DDB India’s energy and talent, is sure to take the business leapfrogging in financials and stature,” says Madhukar Kamath, MD and CEO of the Mudra Group.
