Mudra bags advertising duties for Rural Electrification Corporation

The size of the business is estimated to be more than Rs 10 crore

Mudra, Delhi, has bagged the advertising duties for the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), industry sources confirmed to agencyfaqs! The pitch for this business was held in March this year.

The size of this business is estimated to be over Rs 10 crore.

For the record, REC is a government of India undertaking, incorporated in the year 1969. Its objective is to promote rural electrification projects all over the country. It provides financial assistance to organisations such as state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electricity cooperatives through its corporate office located at New Delhi and 17 field units located in most states across the country.

A source close to the development says REC is looking for a unique corporate campaign that will help convey its objectives clearly and establish a strong connect with the Indian masses.

Since REC is working on a proposal to float an initial public offering (IPO), the reasons for a launching a corporate campaign are even stronger.

When contacted, senior executives at Mudra declined to comment on the development.
