STAR shines at the Promax BDA Awards 2006

In the Promax BDA Awards held last week in New York, STAR Network bagged a considerable number of golds, along with other channels such as Sony, Disney, NDTV, etc

In the Promax BDA Award held in New York last week, Indian television channels won quite a few awards in both the promos as well as design categories.

STAR Network bagged the maximum (18) metals which includes six golds, eleven silvers and one bronze. Out of these, four golds and eight silvers are in Promax Awards, and two golds, three silvers and one bronze in BDA Awards.

Among the different channels in the STAR Network, Channel [v] alone won about three golds, eight silvers and one bronze. Other awards for the network came from its work done on STAR Plus and STAR Gold.

STAR won the Golds for promos such as for ‘Bluffmaster Kaun’ on STAR Gold in the ‘Behind the Scenes Promotion’ category and in the ‘Direction’ category for ‘Ringtone TV’ on Channel [v]. One silver came in for ‘Project Swades’ on STAR Gold in the ‘Special Project’ category and another for ‘Everyouth Skintillating Essential Contest’ on Channel [v] in the ‘Copywriting’ category.

Sony Entertainment Television also managed to bag seven metals, which includes two golds, two silvers and three bronzes. Sony got its two golds and three bronzes from its movie channel Max, and two silvers from its recently acquired SAB.

The golds came for its work on SET Max for ‘How to beat Australia’ in the ‘Art Direction and Design’ category and also for ‘One’ in the ‘Daypart Packaging Promotion Campaign’ category.

Among the other significant Indian winners, Walt Disney India got one gold and four silvers in Promax Awards, Discovery India won two silvers in Promax Awards and TV18 got three silvers in the Promos, while NDTV managed a silver.
