Amrutanjan awards creative duties to Dentsu Communications

The size of the business is around Rs 6 crore. Dentsu Communications, which so far didn’t have an office in Chennai, will set up one now, having bagged this Chennai-based business

Amrutanjan Limited, the company known for manufacturing traditional pharmaceutical products, has finalised Dentsu Communications as its creative agency. The company had called for a creative pitch around 2-3 months ago in Chennai. Some major agencies are believed to have participated in the pitch.

Amrutanjan Limited is eyeing a media spend of Rs 6 crore. R Karthikeyan, product supervisor, Amrutanjan Limited, confirmed this to agencyfaqs!

Dentsu Communications doesn’t have an office in Chennai at present, but will soon commence operations in the city in order to service this business. Ruchira Raina, executive director, Dentsu Communications told this to agencyfaqs!. Raina, for the record, is based out of Bangalore. “We will soon rope in someone to head the Chennai office, but it is too premature to talk about that now,” she says.

Karthikeyan further informs agencyfaqs! that the media buying part will be handled in-house, whereas for the planning function, the pitch is on. “Media agencies such as OMS and MindShare are in the race for the business,” he says.

Amrutanjan Limited had not been actively involved in the advertising scenario before the pitch process. Its occasional communication was being dished out by freelancers.
