Dileep Ashoka, branch head,
McCann Erickson, Bangalore, has a new role to play. He has been designated as head of McCann Erickson, South. This means that besides his current responsibilities of the agency's Bangalore branch, he will also oversee the operations of the Chennai branch.
His new official designation is senior vice-president and general manager, South, McCann Erickson.
Meanwhile, Girish Chandrashekhar, V-P, McCann Erickson, will continue to head the Chennai branch, but from now onwards he will report to Ashoka.
Confirming this development to agencyfaqs!, Santosh Desai, president, McCann Erickson, says, "The Chennai market needs direct attention, and for this role Ashoka seemed perfect, as he contributed a lot to the Bangalore branch."
Talking about his new mandate, Ashoka says, "McCann, Bangalore, is a robust centre of excellence. It just makes sense to extend the sphere of influence to the south, given the proximity and common nature of the markets. My focus is just that."
Ashoka is of the view that Chennai, despite being a small market when it comes to B2C and multinational clients, the scope of growth is not limited.
