Jindal Stainless on the look-out for creative and media agency

Five agencies have pitched for the creative business

Jindal Stainless, the flagship company of the Jindal Group, is looking for a creative, as well as a media agency to handle its advertising business.

Among the creative agencies that have participated in the pitch are Leo Burnett, Lowe, O&M, Saatchi & Saatchi and M&C Saatchi.

And for the media pitch, the company is likely to call the media agencies aligned with the creative agencies. It’s only if it is not satisfied with these media agencies that it will call for independent ones.

The first round of presentations for the creative pitch took place in the first week of September, and the second round is to happen by early next month.

Confirming this development to agencyfaqs! Rajesh Khosla, head, domestic marketing, Jindal Stainless, says, “Gone are the days when industrial products could not be advertised like FMCG products. We are looking forward to a creative partner who can understand our corporate needs and the concept of branding a company like ours.”

Jindal Stainless is an associate sponsor for the Hutch Delhi Half Marathon 2006, and has organised a number of award ceremonies. It has been marketing itself in many similar ways, but this is the first time that the company is thinking of hiring an agency to handle its advertising.

In the first round, the agencies were asked to submit their credentials and proposal for the advertising spends the company should incur. This is also why the company has still not spelt out its advertising spends.

However, in the second round, the client expects the agencies to present creatives customised to the company’s needs.

“Focused and consistent branding are the two factors that we are looking for in the agency,” adds Khosla.
