Walt Disney brings ABC News Now to India

The Walt Disney Company has announced a deal in India through which ABC Television Group’s channel, ABC News Now, will air on Dish TV

The Walt Disney Company has announced an agreement in India between the Disney-ABC Television Group and Dish TV. Under the agreement, ABC News Now, a 24-hour news channel from the ABC Television Group, will be made available on the Dish TV platform. The agreement is supposedly the first of its kind outside the United States for the Disney-ABC Television Group.

Rajat Jain, managing director, Walt Disney Company, says about the agreement, “The Indian media is witness to rapidly growing technology and the consumer of today is willing to embrace all its offerings.”

The Walt Disney Company aims at providing global news coverage to the discerning Indian audience through this agreement. For the record, ABC News Now is a 24x7 international news channel which offers programmes ranging from interviews and in-depth coverage to original programmes on topics such as health and money.

Disney-ABC Television includes the ABC Television Network, Disney Channel’s worldwide portfolio of kids’ channels, ABC Family and SOAPnet as well as television production and syndication divisions Touchstone Television, Walt Disney Television Animation, Buena Vista Worldwide Television and Walt Disney Television International.
