Uno appointed new resident director, Dentsu Communications

Uno has worked on accounts such as All Nippon Airways, Diahatsu, Toshiba and Canon

Norimichi Uno has been appointed the new resident director of Dentsu Communications. He replaces Kenji Nogami, who has now moved to Dentsu Asia, Singapore.

On secondment from Dentsu Inc., Tokyo, Uno will be based in Bangalore. He has been with Dentsu since 1983. Having worked for eight years in Hong Kong and for two years in Amsterdam, he has reaped a lot experience in overseas markets.

Over the years that he has spent at Dentsu, Uno has worked on accounts such as All Nippon Airways, Diahatsu, Toshiba and Canon.

“Uno considerably strengthens our top management in India with his global experience. He also brings a lot of maturity to the job,” says Sandeep Goyal, chairman, Dentsu India.

Ruchira Raina, executive director, Dentsu Communications, adds, “Uno will provide leadership to all our Japanese businesses. He has over two decades of experience on leading brands both in the Japanese domestic market as well as in overseas locations.”

To strengthen the offering to their global Japanese clients, Dentsu has also brought in two more Japanese expatriates, Kato and Ishi, to assist Uno. The agency looks forward to handling client commitments in a more effective manner with their appointment.

Raina refused to divulge any further details on the period of appointment for the new expatriates.

Uno’s predecessor, Nogami, was in charge of the Toyota business in India. After joining the Dentsu Asia team, he will overview the Toyota business. Nogami will, therefore, continue to handle Toyota in India.
