Arjun Mukherjee quits yet again; moves from Capital to JWT

Before joining Capital Advertising, Mukherjee was with Rediffusion DY&R for a period of two-and-a-half months

Less than a month after joining Capital Advertising, Arjun Mukherjee has quit the agency. He has moved to join JWT as vice-president, and will be responsible for the Hero Honda business.

Rohit Ohri, senior vice-president, JWT, confirmed the development to agencyfaqs! “There are two senior executives responsible for the Hero Honda business, and Mukherjee will be one of them,” Ohri said.

Even at Capital, where Mukherjee worked for less a month, he was hired primarily to handle the agency’s automobile clients – Ultra Motors and Maruti. Besides, his responsibilities also included overseeing a few other brands. Back then, Sunil Sachdeva, director, Capital Advertising, had confirmed Mukherjee’s appointment. However, when Sachdeva was confronted on the reason behind Mukherjee’s exit after such a short duration, he had declined to comment on it.

Incidentally, over the last few months, Mukherjee has changed three agencies.

Prior to Capital, Mukherjee was with Rediffusion DY&R where he was V-P, and was looking after the non-Airtel businesses. His stint with Rediff lasted two-and-a-half months.

Mukherjee has experience of 14 years in the advertising industry. Besides Rediffusion DY&R, Delhi, he has worked with Grey Worldwide (then Trikaya Grey), Kolkata; Lowe (then Lintas), Kolkata; Triton Communications, Delhi; Publicis India, Delhi; and RK Swamy/BBDO, Delhi.

During his career span, Mukherjee has worked on accounts such as Dunlop Tyres, ICI Paints, Apollo Tyres, Hewlett-Packard, Oral-B toothbrushes, Living Media Network’s magazines ‘Cosmopolitan’ and ‘India Today Plus’, Sony, Zee TV, Adidas, Blackberry Apparels, Ministry of Tourism’s ‘Incredible India’ and ONGC.

Till the time of filing the story, repeated attempts to contact Mukherjee went futile.
