Panasonic has & #BANNER1 & # awarded the media duties for its Office Automation Systems range to OMS, Ahmedabad, following a multi-agency pitch. OMS will be in charge of the entire media planning, buying and implementation operations for this range in India. The size of the business is around Rs 5 crore. Incidentally, OMS won the Panasonic Toughbook laptop business a few months ago. OMS' total billings on Panasonic now amount to Rs 8-10 crore.

In India, Panasonic's creatives are done jointly by its international and local agencies. While the media departments of its local agencies were handling the media duties earlier, OMS' gain is almost like the first ever consolidation of Panasonic's media duties in India.

Chandradeep Mitra, president, OMS, attributes this win to the standard of planning, buying and implementation capabilities exhibited by OMS' Ahmedabad office. Prashant Gadhavi, head, OMS, Ahmedabad, explains, "One of the reasons why this business has come to us is the kind of work we have done so far on Panasonic Toughbooks. This will be the first multinational business being handled out of OMS, Ahmedabad."

For the record, the Panasonic Office Automation Systems range includes digital imaging systems, telecom systems, computer peripherals and office system products designed specifically for business use.

Panasonic's focus is on making everyday office tasks simpler, convenient and more energy efficient. The corporate philosophy is to bring complete office automation solutions to a range of corporate customers, ranging from blue chips to start-ups.
