Red FM appoints Akash Verma as station head, Delhi

Verma’s mandate will be to look into profit and loss accountability and manage functions such as marketing, sales, programming and scheduling

Akash Verma, who was with Coca-Cola India till recently, has joined Red FM, Delhi, as station head. At Coca-Cola, he was responsible for new products and national marketing of two brands within the Coke portfolio, Kinley Water and Georgia Tea and Coffee.

As station head at Red FM, Delhi, Verma’s mandate will look into profit and loss accountability for the station and manage functions such as marketing, sales, programming, scheduling, finance and human resources.

Verma spent over seven years at Coke working across project commercialisation, innovations, brand management and new product categories and innovations.

This will be Verma’s second stint with the radio industry; before Coca-Cola India, he worked with Times FM in corporate media sales, media innovations and events and promotions.

During his decade long career, Verma has been associated with activities such as business management, innovations, customer marketing, media sales and events. He has sharp consumer insight and comprehensive knowledge about related spheres, including communication development, project management, channel marketing, profit and loss management, consumer promotions and alliance management.

Commenting on the development, Abraham Thomas, chief operating officer, Red FM, says, “Verma has a wide range of experience spanning various dimensions. The role of a station head demanded versatility and that’s what he brings to the table.”
