JCBL scouts for creative, media agency for its bus brand

JCBL has plans to launch a bus brand across India, and it is looking for a creative and media agency for this small-sized business


Chandigarh based, bus-building company (which likes to call itself a 'global mobility solutions' company), is looking for a creative agency that will help it launch a new bus brand. The new brand, presumably a tourist vehicle, will be launched across India later this year.

JCBL general manager Capt. MS Grewal has confirmed the development to agencyfaqs! At this point, JCBL intends to set up new projects, including bus retailing. And it is seeking a media agency to promote these projects.

JCBL is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for many major bus brands in India. In the past, it has manufactured buses for companies such as Tata Motors and Swaraj Mazda. It has also manufactured ambulances and load carriers for the latter company. Among the brands it manufactures are Speed XL and Integral Coach 6113.

JCBL is still to allocate a budget for its promotional activities. Senior executives at the company say the advertising budget will be decided later with inputs from the hired agency. When probed further, they said JCBL plans to spend a few crores of rupees mainly on print and outdoor campaigns.
