JWT Bangalore appoints Padmaja Chandrasekhar as AV-P and senior creative director

Padmaja Chandrasekhar has joined JWT, Bangalore, as its associate vice-president and senior creative director. Her last assignment was with Grey Worldwide, Bangalore, where she worked as the creative director. Her mandate at JWT is to oversee the creative output, primarily in terms of art. She will also be responsible for delivering brand communication that is distinct and leaves an impact. Chandrasekhar feels that JWT, Bangalore, has a diverse portfolio of clients, which will provide a challenging and stimulating environment for work.

Commenting on her appointment, Prahlad Nanjappa, associate vice-president and creative director, JWT, Bangalore says, “Padmaja (Chandrasekhar) will add to our single-minded quest of creating distinctive ideas that create a buzz both in the market and at award forums.”

Dhunji S Wadia, senior vice-president and managing partner, JWT, adds, “Padmaja has vast experience as a creative person and has worked on famous campaigns for Britannia, Lee and Volvo. With her abilities, we are certain that she will drive smart, creative solutions for our clients.”

Chandrasekhar has a degree in Fine Arts from The Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, USA. Overall, she has nearly 15 years of experience in advertising. She was associated with Grey Worldwide for about 12 years and worked with Mudra for two years before that.

During her stint at Grey Worldwide, Chandrasekhar handled businesses such as ITC Foods (Kitchens of India and ‘Aashirvaad’), Britannia, 3M, Trianz and Kerala Tourism. She also oversaw operations at Grey Geometry, the design cell of Grey Worldwide, and was instrumental in the launch of Lee jeans and Volvo trucks in India.
