NTPC wins DAC quiz second time in a row

While one NTPC team won the quiz, its second team was the runner up

For the second consecutive year, NTPC has won the advertising, media and marketing quiz organised by the Delhi Advertising Club (DAC) on February 23 in New Delhi. What’s more, the runner-up team, too, was from NTPC, the second team from the power major.

The three participants in the winning team were Ajay Sahoo, Sujit Varkey and KM Prashanth; the runner-up team consisted of Mohit Bhargava, Chandan Shahi and Partho Sengupta. NTPC won the trophy in 2006 as well. Before that, TBWA Anthem won the trophy three times in a row.

The quiz saw 26 teams from advertising agencies, advertisers and media houses participate. Each team had three participants.

Some of the teams that took part were Discovery Communications, Grey Worldwide, FCB-Ulka Advtg., Team ABP, Mudra Communications, NTPC (two teams), Selvel Media Services, Times School of Marketing, makemytrip.com, Percept H , BEI Confluence Communications, ‘Hindustan Times’, Span Communications, Saatchi & Saatchi, JWT, ‘The Times of India’, and Rams Relationship & Base Hospital.

The top six teams that made it to the final round were the two teams from NTPC, Makemytrip.com, Grey, ‘The Times of India’ and Rams. After eight rounds, NTPC's teams emerged winner and runner up. Surprisingly, of the agencies participating in the event, only Grey was able to make it to the top six.

Sunil Gupta, ex-HTA and current country head, APRAIS International, was the quiz master of the show.

Vivek Syal, president, DAC, announced the seminars and the yearly ICE Awards that are in the pipeline. He showed his enthusiasm in motivating people from the fields of advertising and marketing in the NCR, inviting them to enroll themselves as members of the DAC.
