Young people to drive creative team at Leo Burnett

LB has hired two young creative people at the ECD level, working on the philosophy that young people will form its creative force

Leo Burnett, Mumbai, has added another feather in its creative cap. Sukumar Menon, creative director with Mudra and the creative brain behind the SBI Debit Card campaign, has put in his papers to join Leo Burnett as executive creative director. Menon will be one of the four ECDs at Leo Burnett. The other three are Nitesh Tiwari, Shriram V Iyer and Santosh Padhi. Both Iyer and Menon join the agency together.

Menon, who has been with Mudra since October 2004, is currently serving his notice period. He has been associated with the industry for almost nine years now. Starting in 1998 with JWT, he has worked with agencies such as Enterprise Nexus, Saatchi & Saatchi and Lowe.

Menon says, "Leo Burnett has a very nice plan. They are consciously trying their best to turn this into a young agency. They want young people to run the show here. Also, the creative culture here is awesome - the biggest incentive for me."

Sukumar has worked on Reliance Communications, Electrolux, SBI Debit Card, HP, National Domestic Worker's Association and MetLife Insurance in the last nine years.

Says KV Sridhar, national creative director, Leo Burnett, "Passing the baton on to younger people is really the way forward and, at LB, we believe that there is a lot to learn from today's talented young bunch."
