Vineet Trakroo steps in as GM at FCB Ulka, Mumbai

Trakroo has an overall experience of 16 years, and has spent more than 11 years in the marketing business

FCB Ulka, Mumbai, has appointed Vineet Trakroo as general manager on the Tata Indicom business. He joins from Beiersdorf India, where he was head, marketing and sales, for India and Nepal.

Trakroo shall report to Nitin Karkare, COO, Mumbai. On his appointment, MG Parameswaran, executive director and CEO, FCB Ulka, Mumbai, says, “Trakroo will add to the agency’s motto of strategic thinking, and his appointment is a reaffirmation of the agency’s core strength of professionals who possess marketing values.”

An electronics engineer by qualification, his career focus shifted when he took up a PG course in marketing management at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in 1995.

Trakroo has 16 years’ experience, of which he has spent more than 11 years in marketing. Initially, he spent five years in the electrical engineering sector with Voltas and Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in B2B sales and marketing.

At Beiersdorf India, Trakroo was in charge of handling Hansaplast adhesive plasters, Harmony Condoms and Lion Balm. Earlier in his career, he has also headed marketing operations at Pidilite on Fevicol, and Ahmed Mills on Postman.

Trakroo has been instrumental in launching Bertolli olive oil, Barilla pasta and Imperial Leather soap in India.
