Rediffusion announces senior management changes

This is the first major reshuffle since Mahesh Chauhan took over as president of the agency in Oct 2006

A few months after Mahesh Chauhan was appointed as president of Rediffusion DYR, the agency has announced the next level of senior management changes.

Ajay Gahlaut has been appointed as executive creative director and creative head at the agency’s Delhi branch. Gahlaut, who will move from McCann Erickson, Mumbai, where he served as creative director, will replace Anil Madan, and don his new role on April 16.

This will be Gahlaut’s third stint with the agency. He began his career at Rediff, as trainee copywriter in 1994, and was there for a year. He re-joined the agency, later which was his second innings as executive creative director in 2005, and this stint also lasted for a year.

Down south, the agency has elevated Minakshi Achan, an old hand with Rediff, as head of south operations. In the last seven years that she has worked in Rediff, she has held various positions. She started off as creative director with Rediff Bangalore in 2000. Later, she climbed the ladder to become the group creative director, and executive creative director and executive director, South. Achan will replace Kaushik Tiwari.

Following this, Paritosh Srivastava, has been elevated as head of the agency’s Bangalore branch. Prior to this he was general manager, Bangalore branch and has been with the agency for the last four years.

Mahesh Chauhan, president, Rediffusion DYR comments on this restructuring, “As we strengthen our organisational structure, it is also important to strengthen the existing business roles and responsibilities. The objective is to ensure greater operational empowerment and enable effective management of growth. These changes will drive us towards a stronger market share.”
