The agencies in the final race for the business were FCB Ulka, Rediffusion and Euro RSCG
Following a multi-agency pitch, travel portal MakeMyTrip has awarded its creative duties to Euro RSCG.
In an earlier report, agencyfaqs! had put forth details about the company shorlisting three agencies out of a total of eight, for its creative business. These three were O&M, Publicis India and FCB Ulka. However, as Publicis recently won a rival business, Cleartrip.com, it opted out of the presentation. It is learnt that O&M got eliminated at a very early stage after the shortlisting.
Rediffusion and Euro RSCG were previously not a part of the pitch process, and made an entry much after the shortlisted agencies were announced. Ultimately, the final race for the business was between FCB Ulka, Rediffusion and Euro RSCG.
The company plans to spend Rs 15-20 crore on offline media- television, print, some below-the-line activities and a bit of outdoor (around the airport vicinity, particularly, for obvious reasons).
The online advertising and managing of their website would be looked after by Webchutney and Nuran, a U.S.A. based agency. Ad spends on online media would be approximately Rs 10 crore.
Prior to this, the MakeMyTrip.com business was handled by Leo Burnett, which bagged the account in 2005. The media duties continue to be handled by Starcom.
