Hungama Mobile won the 2007 Meffys Award for ‘Best Mobile Campaign’ for its Casino Royale campaign for Hutch
Hungama Mobile, the Mumbai-based mobile entertainment company, has won the 'Best Marketing Campaign in Mobile Entertainment’ award at the Meffys Awards. The awards are organised by the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), a global body representing the mobile entertainment industry. Neeraj Roy, CEO, Hungama Mobile, received the award from MEF Chairman, Patrick Parodi in Monte Carlo last week. This is the first such honour for an Indian company.
In the first week of June, two mobile campaigns created by Hungama Mobile were nominated for the Meffys – the ‘Casino Royale’ campaign for Hutch in the ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ category and ‘Kingfisher Mobile Calendar’ in the ‘Best Content’ category. For the former, Hungama Mobile created exclusive content for Hutch, including behind-the-scenes video clips. It also catalogued all 20 James Bond movies.
Rimma Perelmuter, executive director of MEF, adds, “The ‘Casino Royale’ campaign was a clear favourite with the judges for its simple yet effective use of the Bond franchise to market the new film while encouraging millions of fans to download clips to their mobiles."
Among other awards this year, the ‘Innovative Business Model’ award went to AdMob, the ‘Handset Application’ award went to ShoZu and the ‘Entertainment Handset’ award went to Nokia N95. Every year, the Meffys Awards recognise the innovations in the $23 billion mobile entertainment industry, recognizing both start-up companies and well-known brands.
