JWT on the prowl, two senior executives join JWT Delhi

The duo has come in from McCann Erickson and Bates David Enterprise

The action within WPP never seems to stop. Especially at JWT. Close on the heels of Hari Krishnan, branch head for Grey Worldwide, joining JWT, another development has taken place at the agency, though not at the same level of seniority. This time around, two new executives have joined JWT Delhi. Avik Santara, director, client servicing, Bates David Enterprise, and Sudeep Narayan, director, client servicing, McCann Erickson, have joined the agency on two different businesses. Rohit Ohri, managing partner, JWT Delhi, has confirmed the development to agencyfaqs!

Santara comes in from Bates where he was handling the Nokia business. At JWT, he will be working on Pepsi Flavors (brands such as Mirinda, 7Up, Mountain Dew and all non-cola brands). He will report to Sanjay Tandon, senior vice-president. Incidentally, Tandon was Santara’s boss at Bates Enterprise and himself joined JWT a month back.

Avik Santara
Says Santara, “As an agency, Bates is very bright. I had a great time there. Nokia as a client was very participatory. But I always had huge regard for JWT because of its size, list of clients and the team. Pepsi is like icing on the cake.”

Santara has been in this industry for close to nine years now. He started his career at Percept Communications (now split into Percept H and Hakuhudo Percept) on the Hero Honda brand. Later, he joined TBWA and spent close to three years at the agency.

Sudeep Narayan
Narayan has been in the industry for close to 10 years. He started his career at Saatchi and Saatchi, Kolkata, and soon shifted to the agency’s Delhi branch. After having spent two years at the agency, he shifted to Leo Burnett and then McCann Erickson. In fact, he says these are two agencies where he has done two separate stints. In his last assignment at McCann Erickson, Narayan headed the Dabur portfolio, which included Chyawanprash and homecare products.

Says Narayan, “JWT is a very good opportunity. Lately, the agency has become younger and even more hungry. The environment at JWT fits my future plans and is conducive to giving me a sharp learning curve.” He will be working on Frito Lays. Narayan’s mandate will be to further fortify the brand amongst its existing loyalties.
