Milind Naik, former
CTO (interactive media) at Star India and Cricinfo.com, has been appointed Miditech's CTO. This is in line with the company's aggressive foray into content creation, specifically for mobiles, besides developing a number of Internet properties, which could include a broadband portal co-branded with a major global media partner, to deliver content to audiences across the globe.
Commenting on Naik's appointment, Nikhil Alva, CEO, Miditech, says, "Milind not only has a critical role to play in Miditech's foray into the new media space, he will also help us use the latest technology to deliver better quality content more efficiently to our broadcast and other media partners."
At Miditech, Naik is tasked with building a strong IT infrastructure that will facilitate smoother communication and exchange of data between Miditech's various production centres in India and abroad. Naik will also work closely with Miditech's senior management team to fashion the company's new media strategy. He will be based in Bangalore and report directly to Miditech CEO Nikhil Alva.
Naik has global experience of more than 15 years in the Internet and new media space. His experience includes building and managing cross-functional teams, developing web and mobile specific applications and understanding and interfacing with businesses across the Americas, Europe and the Asia Pacific. Naik will define the road map that will add technology scalability to Miditech's business both in terms of hardware as well as software.
