Prior to LIA, Dabral judged the Singapore Media Awards in 2006. In the past, he has also been part of the International Andy Awards 2005 and the Times Asia Pacific Advertising Awards 2003 juries.

Dabral is an NID graduate and started his career with Lintas, Delhi (now Lowe), spending five years there. He moved to O&M, Mumbai, in 1989 to join Piyush Pandey, the then creative director of the agency. In 1999, Dabral was offered the post of executive creative director at O&M, Kuala Lumpur, and he moved out of the country. During his time in Malaysia, O&M won the Grand Prix at the Asian Media Awards 2000, followed by Malaysia's first One Show Gold. Other awards include those won at Adfest, Cannes, the Clios and the D&ADs.

Dabral took over as the chairman and ECD of O&M, Singapore, in 2004.

LIA received 17,139 entries from 80 countries last year. The number of entries received this year is yet to be announced. The judging will take place from mid-August to the end of September. The results are likely to be announced in October.
