B Sai Kumar elevated to Group COO, TV18 Group

He was earlier designated chief executive officer, TV 18 Media Network

B Sai Kumar, chief executive officer, TV18 Media Network, has been elevated to the post of group chief operating officer of the TV18 Group. Kumar will report to Haresh Chawla, group chief executive officer.

TV18 Media Network is the commercial arm of the group. It looks after the commercial interests of CNBC, IBN and the web businesses. In his new capacity, Sai Kumar will synergise and support the CEOs and teams of different business units of the group.

He will also be actively involved in looking after Web18, the group’s Internet arm; Newswire18, the group’s news and data terminal business; and Home Shop18, along with mandates for other upcoming ventures from the group across the television and new media space.

Commenting on his appointment, Haresh Chawla, says, “In the past few years, Sai (Kumar) has played a vital role in the transcendence of the TV18 Group into one of India’s leading full play media entities. His in-depth operational understanding and proficiency on the revenue side will bring about competency in operations across the group. The TV18 Group is currently in the growth mode and we look forward to heading in the right direction.”
