Dr Pramath Sinha, managing director and CEO at Anand Bazar Patrika (ABP) Group has put in his papers
In a sudden development that has taken the media world by surprise, Dr Pramath Sinha, managing director and CEO ABP Group, has called it a day. Sinha has put in his papers at the media entity he joined almost a year ago.
Senior officials at the ABP were caught by surprise and news relating to Sinha’s exit spread like wildfire. A senior executive at ABP said, on condition of anonymity, that the development was definitely a sudden move. Most ABP employees learned about it this morning. So far, ABP has not sent out any release on the matter.

Sinha also informs that he is exploring multiple options within media and will be in position to reveal his plans by September.
ABP Group has evolved into a media conglomerate that has twelve premier publications, three 24-hour national TV news channels, two leading book publishing businesses and several mobile and internet properties. Star News, Star Ananda and Star Majha are the TV channels which come under its kitty. It also has a Bengali radio station operating out from Mumbai. The dailies include Anandbazar Patrika and The Telegraph. It also has Businessworld in its portfolio. Prior to joining ABP, Sinha was a partner with McKinsey & Company, handling its Canadian and Indian practices. He was with McKinsey for 12 years.
Pramath has earned degrees in mechanical engineering and applied mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.Tech. in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
