Motivator and GOD get into a partnership

Motivator, three years old and the youngest of all the media agencies of GroupM, is exploring innovative opportunities to grow fast

Motivator, the GroupM media agency, has entered into a partnership with Gang of Designers (GOD), a Mumbai based communications agency, to offer its media services to clients seeking complete advertising solutions under one roof. This is the first time that a GroupM agency has extended its services beyond the WPP fold.

Confirming the news to agencyfaqs!, Rajul Kulshreshtha, managing director, Motivator, says, “There are other such alliances in the anvil for the agency. It is a win-win situation, wherein both GOD and we will be able to leverage the best from each other.”

Motivator, three years old and the youngest of all the media agencies of GroupM, is exploring innovative opportunities like this to grow fast. The agency plans to take such associations to cities beyond the metros, where the benefits of a professional media agency is most needed by creative boutiques that don’t possess experience in media planning and buying.

Sandeep Bomble, CEO and executive creative director, GOD, says, “It’s a great boost to have the backing of Motivator, which has its roots in GroupM, one of the biggest media parent companies. Ultimately, it depends on how much a brand is willing to spend on its media, and in such a case, this association gives GOD a professional edge over other agencies which pitch for a business.”

The partnership is open and does not restrict either Motivator or GOD from taking up any individual projects; both of them are free to partner each other or decide not to do so, keeping in mind the need of the client.

With this tie-up, GOD is looking forward to make a place for itself in the advertising industry, amongst the flood of WPP and Publicis Groupe agencies. The association sends out a signal to the fraternity that a trend along this vein might be setting in.

Motivator, which holds accounts such as Skoda, Globus Retail, Union Bank, Floriana Marbles, Barclays Bank and Bank of India, estimates its billing will be around Rs 200 crore by the end of this fiscal. GOD has won accounts such as Donear Suitings, Disha Direct and Orama Theatres recently.
