Kyoorius Designyatra 2007 announces winners

Rediffusion was named Design Firm of the Year and Silver Point was Printer of the Year


Designyatra 2007, which was held in Goa from 6-8 September 2007, has announced its winners.

Kyoorius Designyatra has two competitions, Design Excellence and Print Excellence. More than 900 entries were received for the two combined. There were 60 finalists for Design Excellence and 12 verdicts were chosen as award winners. For Print Excellence, there were 108 finalists and 18 verdicts.

Rediffusion was named Design Firm of the Year. Rediffusion had 15 nominations and two verdicts. It won the verdicts for Book of Poems, called 'Bang Bang', in the Booklets and Literature category, and for Down to Earth magazine, titled 'Common Sense', in the Poster category.

Contract Advertising was another agency to win two verdicts. Contract won them for 'Growing Young' in the Company Literature category and HSBC brand identity in Others category.

Lowe, Publicis Ambience and O&M won one verdict each for Poster Design, Packaging and Labelling and 3D Objects, respectively. Lowe won the verdict for 'Kala Akshar', Publicis Ambience for ZPCC and O&M for Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA).

Other verdicts for Design Excellence were won by Spirit Design in the Books category, Co-Design in Environmental Graphics, Open Mind in Letterhead/Identity/Logos, Abhijit Karandikar in Letterhead and Stationery Design and Umbrella Design in Illustration and Photography.

Silver Point was recognised as Printer of the Year in the Print Excellence competition. It won verdicts in categories including Annual Reports, Company Literature and Books - Soft Back.

Other companies that won verdicts for Print Excellence include: Jack Printers, Thomson Press, King of Kings Printers, Satish Gupta, Jyotsna Art, Omkar Art, Bounce Design, Screen Art Enterprises and Vishwa Kala.

Kyoorius Designyatra is an annual design event organised by Kyoorius Exchange. Kyoorius Exchange is an initiative by Transasia Fine Papers to create an extensive exchange platform for the Indian creative community. The event is implemented with provoking programming that stimulates the professional and student's mind in exploring new boundaries of design and the values of design in society and business.
