Sanjay Reddy quits Pearl Media to join Zee Telugu as CEO

Reddy, chief executive officer, Pearl Media, has put in his papers. He is moving to head Zee Telugu as its chief executive officer, based in Hyderabad.

Pearl Media is the media sales arm of Century Communication Ltd (CCL), an integrated media and entertainment company with interests in television, films, radio and other growing aspects of the media business. Reddy joined Pearl Media a year ago in August 2006.

Reddy holds a post-graduate degree in business administration from Pune University and has close to 18 years of experience in the ad sales industry. At Pearl Media, Reddy was responsible for consolidating media sales and initiating entry into new media sales activities. Reddy is credited with setting up various national networks and leading large sales teams.

Before Pearl Media, he worked with Walt Disney Television International (India) as director, ad sales. He was associated with Disney for close to two years and executed media innovations and alliances on mobile and Internet, which helped establish Disney Channel and Toon Disney in India.

Prior to Walt Disney, he did a short stint with India TV as vice-president, sales, and marketing. Prior to India TV, Reddy did a long stint with Sony India. He was the ad sales head for Sony India and responsible for looking after ad sales for Sony Entertainment Television (SET), SET Max, HBO and AXN.

Reddy has also worked with organisations such as 'The Times of India', CNBC-TV18 (then ABNi), Siti Cable, ESPN and STAR Sports.
