Muktapuram comes home to advertising as Senior V-P, Euro

After spending a year at Radio One as station head, Murali Muktapuram is back in advertising as senior vice-president with Euro RSCG Delhi

Murali Muktapuram has joined Euro RSCG as senior vice-president. Muktapuram, who has spent 12 years in advertising, had moved to Radio One last year as station head. But within one year, he decided to come back home to advertising, which is his first love.

In his 12-year career, Muktapuram has worked for several agencies such as R Kanga, Mudra, FCB Ulka and Ogilvy. Says Muktapuram, “The achievement of setting up Radio One in Delhi gave me a new high. In fact, I wasn’t contemplating this move, but when this opportunity knocked my door, I couldn’t resist coming home. From the core of my heart, I feel I am a servicing professional.”

Muktapuram quips that the task at Radio One required him to be more spontaneous and oversee content that went on air. As station head, he was responsible for generating creative strategies for Radio One. He is now looking forward to continue working as a client servicing professional with Euro RSCG.

Says Muktapuram, “Euro RSCG is a fast growing agency and it’s great to be a part of this reckoning force. My role is to contribute and build up the momentum.” He will work on the Reckitt Benckiser account to begin with.

Says Sushant Panda, director, Euro RSCG, “Murali, despite his year long media hiatus, has the same passion for advertising. At Euro RSCG, he now adorns a larger role. His focus will be on building relationships and deliver great creative products.”

Muktapuram stepped into advertising in 1994 when he started as a management trainee with a Delhi based R Kanga Advertising. A year later he moved to Ahmedabad to join Mudra. He stayed with the agency for two years and then moved back Delhi. He joined FCB Ulka in 1997, followed by Ogilvy, where he spent close to seven years. Radio One was his next destination.

Panda says that few more servicing professionals will soon join Euro RSCG in Delhi.
