Disney’s Tushar Shah puts in his papers

Shah has been associated with Disney Channel India since July 2005

Tushar Shah, director, marketing and communications, Disney Channel India, has quit. When contacted, Shah declined to comment on his next destination.

Shah has been associated with Disney Channel India since July 2005 and was responsible for improving awareness and affinity for the channel in the market. His overall experience in the sales, marketing and communication industry is close to 17 years.

He started his career with sales and spent over five years in that field with different companies. His last sales job was with ‘The Times of India’ after which he switched to the marketing field with telecom companies. He spent the next six years with telecom companies such as Modi Telstra, Agrani and Hutch. Then, in 2002, he moved to television and joined SET (Sony Entertainment Television) Max in the field of marketing.

Shah stayed at SET Max for close to three years and was instrumental in creating the ‘Deewana Bana De’ positioning for the channel. He also looked after marketing operations for movies and cricket for SET Max and was especially involved in making the ‘Extra Innings’ cricket show a success. In 2005, he was moved to SET as marketing head and he looked after the final stages of ‘India Idol’ and the initial stages of ‘Fame Gurukul’. After this, he joined Disney Channel India.
