Amrit Ghosal moves to Rashtriya Sahara

Ghosal has 13 years’ experience in the sales and marketing functions

Amrit Ghosal, ex-national sales head, Zee Jagran, the socio-spiritual-entertainment channel of the Zee Group, has moved to Rashtriya Sahara, the Hindi newspaper from the Sahara group. He takes over as the head of the marketing function there.

Before moving to Rashtriya Sahara, Ghosal did a short stint with Arindam Chaudhari’s Planman Media. With experience of 13 years, Ghosal has been in the sales and marketing function from the very beginning.

He has worked with Onida as a senior executive in marketing, and was part of the team that launched air conditioners in Uttar Pradesh (UP). He then moved to the India Today Group in the sales function in 1993, and was there for two years. He moved to ‘Dalal Street Journal’ in 1995. Ghosal then shifted to the Indian Express Group as deputy head, government sales. In a year, he stepped up the ladder as head of the department. In 2000, he joined ‘Asian Age’ as general manager, marketing, for the northern region.

Talking about his mandate, Ghosal says, “I am supposed to increase the advertising penetration of the venture. Strengthening the sales team, driving innovations and controlling revenues would also form an important part of my job profile.”
