Euro RSCG has been brought on board to handle French group Danone's creative duties in India

French food

company Groupe Danone has signed Euro RSCG as its creative partner in India. The French bottled mineral water, biscuits and yoghurt maker is known to be gearing up for a launch in India.

According to sources, Euro RSCG will help Danone launch a new packaged water brand, which is not a mass product here in India. It is a medium sized business and Danone is looking at an urban launch in the major cities of India. At present, Danone is known to import the Evian water brand in India. It is learnt that Danone is interested in increasing its presence in the dairy and beverages business here.

Earlier this year, Danone, which has a stake in Britannia, was known to have got entangled in a tiff with the Indian biscuit company over the licensing rights of the Tiger biscuit brand, which is registered with Britannia.

Officials at Euro RSCG and Danone have chosen to keep quiet on the issue and they declined to comment for this story.
