WWIL creates brand mascot for digital cable brand GalaxZee

The mascot has been created in keeping with the newly introduced personalised and door to door services of the company

Wire & Wireless India Ltd (WWIL), a Zee Network enterprise, will use a brand mascot to represent its digital cable TV service, GalaxZee. The mascot has been created in keeping with the 35 per cent annual growth rate of the company and the newly introduced personalised and door to door services.

This will include a service team and mobile vans stationed in each locality with local cable operators and a 24x7 call centre. The service team will provide doorstep service at short notice to all its customers. WWIL is present in 43 cities and has 400 centres.

Deviprasad Ghosh, vice-president, marketing, WWIL, says, “Creating a brand mascot will give the brand universal appeal and cut across audiences in various economic segments. A celebrity could have been hired as a mascot, but that would have limited the scope for real mass appeal. No particular name has been chosen for the mascot. With its look and feel, it will represent some basic qualities of the brand, which include young, modern, warm, friendly and trustworthy.”

Deepak Chandnani, CEO, WWIL, adds, “The brand mascot will help the brand to identify with today’s consumer, reinforcing the brand values of being modern and technology savvy. Along with this, we hope to offer the best digital cable technology and outstanding customer service.”

The mascot has been designed by Saints & Warriors. The agency will also launch a print and outdoor campaign to popularise the brand mascot among audiences throughout the country. The campaign will build upon the different emotional moods of the mascot such as joy, happiness and respect, and then relate them with the masses.
