Hitesh Sabharwal joins BAG Films as distribution head

BAG Films and Media Ltd has appointed Hitesh Sabharwal executive vice-president. Sabharwal will be responsible for the global and national distribution operations for all of BAG Films’ soon to be launched television channels. These include Bliss24, a wellness channel; Life24, a lifestyle channel; E24, an entertainment channel; and News24, a 24-hour news channel.

Prior to joining BAG Films, Sabharwal was head of distribution and content at Videocon DTH Venture.

Commenting on the appointment, Anurradha Prasad, managing director, BAG Films, says, “Hitesh Sabharwal’s vast experience in the field of media and entertainment will certainly add to the growth of the company and help it develop further in the future.”

Sabharwal says, “Most of my career, I have worked with companies which were startups initially, but have become totally established now. It’s a different kind of a challenge and joy to join a startup venture and take it to new heights. I look forward to working with BAG Films.”

Hitesh has more than 16 years of experience in sales, marketing and distribution in the national and international market. He holds a Master’s degree in business administration with a major in marketing from Pune University. He started his career in sales and marketing with Apollo Tyres. He has worked with several companies, including Zee Telefilms, the Hinduja Group, Sony Entertainment Television, Nimbus Sports Broadcast and The Times of India group.
