The agency has hired two creative directors to steer its creative function
Bates David Enterprise is witnessing an inflow of new talent. Recently, agencyfaqs! reported the appointment of Kaushik Mitra as its creative director for copy. Now, Bates has appointed two more creative directors. Rohit Malkani, creative director, Publicis Ambience Mumbai, has joined the agency as creative director for copy, as has also Joseph D’Souza, creative director, art, JWT.

D’Souza started his career over 14 years ago at Leo Burnett. There, he was a visualiser on the P&G businesses (Ariel, Vicks, Heinz and Complan) and Yes Bank. He then moved on to Grey Worldwide (then Trikaya Grey), where he handled Ambuja Cement and Kinetic bikes and scooters. Four years later, he joined JWT and has been there ever since. While at JWT, D’Souza looked after Smirnoff, Club HP (Turbojet and Power), Phillips India and Baskin Robbins.
Malkani has been at Publicis Ambience for the past five years. He headed the creative team on the Marico brands, including Hair and Care, Silk-n-Shine, After Shower, Therapie and Revive starch, apart from working on Procter & Gamble’s Vicks and Bisleri mineral water.
Before that, Malkani was with Planetasia.com for two years, where he developed the brand strategy and online identity for several companies/brands, including ESPN, HUL, Sony Music and Indya.com. Prior to this, Malkani worked with JWT Bangalore, where he spent close to six years handling Taj Mahal Tea, Red Label Tea, Lipton Yellow Label, Kingfisher, Acer, McDowell, Kerala Tourism, Standard Chartered credit cards and Van Heusen.
